Dana has over 15 years of marketing experience (1985 – 2000) in the digital media marketplace including the video, broadcast, film, music, interactive authoring, internet and computer graphics industries. This significant timeframe began the emergence of digital technology, the internet and ecommerce and Dana had the opportunity to work with some of the best companies in the industry.    Most recently, she has been a partner in a real estate development venture involved in the design and construction of both residential and commercial properties.   She utilizes and integrates her strategic marketing capabilities, business development, project management, computer graphics and design expertise, applying all of it in her role at ILine.

Career highlights include working at Netscape Communications when the company was the industry leading internet service provider in the mid 1990's. At Netscape she worked within the enterprise applications division to develop strategic relationships with Oracle and SAP marketing ecommerce solutions.   Dana also worked with the Global Partners Group at Sun Microsystems prior to Netscape in a sales training capacity to educate the Sun sales force about enterprise solutions for ecommerce.

During the early nineties Dana worked in the emerging markets division at Silicon Graphics Inc. and was an integral part of helping SGI become established as a leader in applying 3D animation to the entertainment industry.   She produced and coordinated huge world-wide tours and marketing events to promote SGI and its entertainment software partners to film, video, broadcast and production companies looking for a digital solution.   She moved to the management team of the newly formed SGI subsidiary, Silicon Studio Inc. to provide marketing and business development strategies and partnerships in the entertainment industry forming an advisory board of early adopters including RGA-NY, Rhythm & Hues and Digital Domain. The culminating press event she produced hosted Steven Spielberg and Jeffrey Katzenberg promoting the SGI entertainment solution used to create the 3D animation in Jurassic Park.

Smith spent six years at Ampex Corporation from 1987-1992 working in both the professional broadcast, video and data storage industries in product marketing capacities responsible for special effects, betacam cameras and video tape recording devices.

In addition to large companies, Dana was one of five founders who formed a small internet-based 3D animation rendering farm business, seeded with Intel Corp. funding, and her entertainment industry experience started in the music and recording industries for small studios in Northern California and Los Angeles.

Dana holds a BA degree in Communication Studies and B.A. degree in Journalism from California State University, Sacramento.   She also holds a CID certificate in Design from Williams School of Design.
